Porcelain Veneers in London, Ontario
Veneers offer one of the best dentistry options for people wanting to improve their smiles. With veneers, you can whiten your teeth beyond what tooth whitening can accomplish. Veneers can also be used to align or straighten crooked teeth or to eliminate spaces between the teeth. Veneers also reflect light and have a luster like enamel. Unlike dental crowns, they are placed only over the front of the teeth. However, unlike bleaching, tooth contouring and reshaping, and dental bonding, veneers are a lifetime commitment.
What are Veneers?
Veneers are very thin slices of porcelain or composite that are custom made for each tooth. Veneers are glued directly on top of your tooth, giving the impression of flawless white teeth
How are Veneers Applied?
First, a half millimeter of enamel is removed from the front surface of the tooth. The tooth is then “roughed up” using phosphoric acid. Resin cement and the veneer are then applied to the tooth. The procedure takes at least two visits.
How often will I have to repair or redo my Veneers?
Plastic Veneers usually last between 3 and 6 years. Porcelain veneers are much more durable, and can last between 10 to 15 years, if not longer.
How much do Veneers cost?
The cost of veneers varies, depending on whether they are made from porcelain, or from plastic. For porcelain veneers, each individual veneer can cost anywhere from $900 to $2000 dollars per tooth. Plastic veneers on the other hand are cheaper, and generally cost around $300 per tooth.
The prices for veneers are determined on a per-patient-basis, and can only be quoted after you’ve visited our London, Ontario office in Canada.
We also offer Lumineers, which are “no prep” veneers. Lumineers are contact lens-thin veneers which are placed over existing teeth without the need to remove any tooth structure. Lumineers can be a wonderful conservative treatment option for certain smiles. Ask us if Lumineers can improve your smile!
